How come connecting an External Camera with the Nebula tablets and the native quality on the tablet was not very good

How come connecting an external camera with the Nebula tablets and the native quality on the tablet was not very good (compared to connecting the camera with PC)?

After some investigation and internet searching they believe the problem is relating to a software CODEC within android 5.1.1.

Because the O/S does not support the MJPEG codec, the information from the camera is delivered in RAW format which is quite low quality.

The problem was resolved by upgrading the tablets to ANDROID 7.1
